Anyone who has traveled by air for long periods know the feeling: uncontrollable daytime sleepiness, fatigue, nausea, moodiness, difficulty sleeping and that feeling that something is very wrong. This is the jet lag, disorientation that comes when we go through several time zones - the world is divided into 24 of them - who crash the biological clock.
"Who is going from east to west - from Sao Paulo to Paris, for example - Feels less than anyone traveling in the opposite direction. That's because it is easier to adapt the way to somewhere whose time is earlier than the source.", says neurologist Andrew Felicio, Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein. The unpleasant symptoms can last up to four days, but there are tips to put in place before, during and after the trip that promise to ease the discomfort.
